After spending decades responding to emergencies and preparing the next generation of public safety professionals, Ira founded Witherspoon & Company with a simple belief:

Meet Our Founder
Ira G. Witherspoon Jr., founder of Witherspoon & Company, LLC, is a retired Fire Captain, former Career and Technical Education (CTE) educator, and Community Partnership Leader with more than three decades of experience in public safety, education, leadership development, and community engagement.
During his 26-year career with the Charlotte Fire Department, he served with distinction in emergency response, leadership, training, and mentoring. Following his retirement from the fire service, Ira spent 11 years as a Career and Technical Education (CTE) educator, teaching both Business and Public Safety, where he helped students develop career readiness, leadership skills, and pathways to future success.
Today, through Witherspoon & Company, LLC, Ira partners with churches, schools, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and community groups to strengthen emergency preparedness, develop effective safety programs, build capable teams, and foster collaborative partnerships that create safer, stronger, and more resilient communities.
