About Me
Hello, I'm Ira G. Witherspoon Jr.
I'm a retired educator from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools System and a former Fire Captain with the Charlotte Fire Department. I now serve as a Disaster Preparedness Instructor, continuing a lifelong commitment to safety, leadership, and community.
With over 26 years in the fire service and more than a decade in education, I’ve dedicated my career to helping others stay prepared and empowered. From leading classrooms to commanding fire scenes, I’ve always believed that preparation saves lives—and that strong communities begin with knowledge.
